Popular Questions
01What types of therapy do you offer?
As an integrative counsellor I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), elements of Gestalt Therapy, Rewind Therapy. I also train in Somatic Therapy. I work with you to determine the best approach based on your individual needs.
02How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is a deeply personal choice, and there is no "wrong" reason to seek support. You might find it helpful if:
You feel "stuck": You notice the same patterns repeating in your relationships, career, or self-image.
Your body is speaking: You experience persistent tension, fatigue, or a sense of "disconnection" that talking alone hasn't resolved (Somatic focus).
You’ve experienced trauma: You are carrying the weight of past events that continue to impact your "here and now."
You simply want to grow: You don't need to be in a crisis to benefit from therapy; many people use it as a creative space to understand themselves more deeply.
The best way to know is to trust your "gut feeling" during our initial conversation. If you feel safe, heard, and respected, that is usually the strongest sign that we can do meaningful work together. There is no obligation to continue if it doesn't feel like the right fit.
03How long does therapy usually take?
There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer. Some clients find that a few months of focused work provides the clarity they need, while others choose to engage in longer-term, depth-oriented therapy to process complex trauma or long-standing relational patterns. We will regularly check in to see how the pace feels for you.
04Are my sessions confidential?
Yes, what you share in our sessions stays between us, with only a few exceptions centered around safety:
If I am alerted to child protection issues or specific illegal acts (like money laundering).
During my monthly professional supervision (where your identity is kept anonymous).
I also meet with a clinical supervisor once a month to reflect on my practice. I may discuss themes from our work to ensure I’m supporting you effectively, but I never use your full name or identifying details.
05Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not currently accept private health insurance. I work directly with clients on a private-pay basis.
06What is the cost of therapy sessions?
Sessions are £65 for a full 60 minutes. I believe therapy should be accessible, so I offer a limited number of reduced-fee online spaces for those where cost is a genuine barrier. Please feel free to mention this during our initial conversation, and we can discuss what might be possible.
07How do I schedule an appointment?
The simplest way to start is to fill out the Contact Form on this website or send me an email. If it feels right, we can schedule our initial appointment to talk about what you’re experiencing and see if we are a good match. We will then make a decision on whether we want to work together. If I am unable to help, I will try my best to refer you or provide information on where to find the right person.
08Do you offer therapy for children and adolescents?
I offer therapy sessions for adults 18+ and over.
Unfortunately, I don't work with children.
09Can therapy help with relationship issues?
Absolutely. We explore how you connect with others and, most importantly, how you relate to yourself. By looking at the "here and now" and identifying patterns from the past, therapy can help you build healthier boundaries, improve communication, and foster deeper intimacy in your relationships.
